Last Christmas...

Every year in the month of December, the staffs will have a office christmas party! Last December I decided to throw it at this cozy restaurant call "LITTLE ITALY". It's actually one of my more frequented dining place. I like the food there and it's not costly. I went earlier to setup the place and also be there to welcome my fellow colleagues when they arrive.

The set menu lunch that they had was really not my style so I asked for permission to make my own. I printed them in alternate green and red paper for them to tick on their choice.

The party also double as farewell for Jaime because after Christmas, everyone will be on hols here and there. It would be hard to gather everyone. Truly want to take this opportunity to thank her for her serving and working together side by side for the past months. The church has been more cozy with little bits and details from her thoughfulness. From a church member, she's become a friend and family to the colleagues. We will surely miss her.

ok. since it's hard to gather everyone, they tripled the party into a simple birthday celebration for me as well. Partor Steven came with two boxes of tarts that I thought was to be the dessert for the lunch but it's actually my birthday 'cake'. hahaha...

the party ended with a game for gift exchange (but of course everyone gets a gift too).

So, Merry Christmas has ended and Happy New Year has come. Wishing everyone a great God-centered year ahead! =)

The Heavenly Gift 2011

After about twenty days of the booth at IOI Mall, it's finally the day for the gift giving! Not just to the orphanages, but also to the poor families! This Christmas, we gave away providence for about eighty families!

These are the gift packs that we'd spent a week purchasing, sorting and wrapping. Big thanks to Chee Wei and Agape and the buying team for putting these all together. There were at least two days, the team stayed up till past midnight just to get things ready.

Early morning on Dec 24th, we gathered at Tesco Puchong to pay and load the groceries to the lorry. Although there were some delay at Tesco, we were still able to make it in time and ended an hour ahead of time due to the efficiency of the people!

Upon arrival at the hall, we started with a quick briefing and straight on to making boxes and sorting out the groceries into each box.

Many volunteers came and lend a helping hand, making work light!

Chris (left) is one of the main committee member in making The Heavenly Gift a success. Daryl (right) came as the event photographer also brought two friends to help out and he went hands on in carrying the groceries too.

The Project Manager of The Heavenly Gift is Sharon, under the supervision of Pr Timothy. Chris is the lead in relates to the community, Mei Fung is the lead pertaining to the booth at IOI Mall and Agape is the lead in regards to purchasing. And of course we were assisted by many many many volunteers!

The volunteers even help to carry it all the way up to the families' apartment unit.

The Heavenly Gift 2011 has ended and we are the midst of consolidating accounts but Food Bank will be starting for the next twelve months and we hope that through the Financial Literacy Class, more and more families learns about financial freedom and able to walk out of the way of poverty. Once more, a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you that had chipped in in any way. We wouldn't have done it without you.

Pr Tim Bday @ Office Celebration

We had a delayed celebration for Pr Tim because he went away to a conference for almost a week and with everyone's busy schedule we finally managed to squeeze in a quick on hour all-in celebration! And so it happens, someone gave us a box of pastries the week before. Ngam lah... use for food time for everyone.

3 days. It took me 3 days to write this and for the sore to go away. For a handful of us, 8^th October was exceptionally thrilling, not to mention history-making. It was the day we ran for the nation.

A total of 920 runners from all across the nation embark on a 1000km relay to run and pray for the nation. The mission of Run for the Nation was to uphold our nation Malaysia in prayer as runners cover designated routes passing by homes, school, commercial area, government buildings and religious sites.

With the cold morning air blowing, it was hard not to be hyped up as runners were flagged off at Putrajaya as the first station. Each team covers a 5km route with a prayer card in hand. The run ends at Luther Centre in Petaling Jaya where a simple appreciation ceremony was held.

For a first timer, Run Nat was a refreshing prayer experience. As we run pass houses and the regular man and women on the streets, I felt a real burden to pray for the strengthening of family institutions, salvation and commitment of hearts. For a few minutes, I was entirely immersed in prayer and forgot about my blurring vision, aching calf and pounding heart.

Being the only girl in the team, I have been blessed with extremely patient teammates who waited for me at every junction to catch up. So here’s a heartfelt thanks to Jackee, Tham and Waikit. Also to Aaron who played Team Manager, photog and chauffer.

I know of 2 other teams from Eaglepoint that completed the run, so kudos to all! Catch up with them to hear their RunNat experience. Better yet, form a team to run and pray for our nation next year. Next RunNat is on 6^th October 2012.

Looking for "kaki" or (loosely translated as) looking for friends with the same interest?

One way to connect in this church is you can find kaki in the same interest. Connect via Facebook or via group page and you will find possible new friends that share your passion. Let me introduce a few here to illustrate my point:

there's a group of working adults that go to the CAMP5 at One Utama weekly if now few times a week!

I know at least a few people in church that loves to run. I dont personally but there are those passionate to even join the marathon!

> Boardgames

aha! I just got to know that many people like to play boardgame and someone started a Boardgame Club that happens every alternate Wednesday at church! Even friends not from church came overflowing in!

> Dancing

1a.m. Dance is every Sat. We are starting another beginners class for the chinese church. And if you dont like hiphop, we have a contemporary/jazz/latin dance teacher!

> Singing

Singing of course you can always join the 1a.m. team. They sing weekly and monthly! So you can sing and worship and serve all in one package! Good Deal! hehehe...

> Acting

1a.m. Drama is not really active at the moment but with the recent year end production happening, let's revive it!

> Watching Stage plays / Musicals

I love to watch stage play and few of us always go together. Recently someone came to me and say that her friends does not like to go for stage play and can she join me? More than welcome. Let's go together!

> Cycling

I think there are a few serious cyclist in church. They would be more than welcome to see new blood in the team.

> Hiking

MORE WORKING ADULT has been posting about the various activities that they are planning. From hiking to the recent White Water Rafting trip! Hop in!

If you love to pray and minister to others, Healing Room is the place for you.

If you love kids, there are more than enough avenue for you. Playgroup, Kidzone, Kids School Holiday Camp... take a pick!

Did you know there is a Eaglepoint Football Club? They practiced weekly and even recently won runner up at a competition! When they are not kicking their own football, they meet to watch the worldwide matches. You too can join in them in their screaming matches! =)

This is definitely a must for Pastor Tim and his gang and whoever would like to join them!

oh. this is a weekly affair. A few families gathered on Sunday morning for a swim together with their children so that everyone make friends ... adult with adults, and kids with kids. We have a couple of swimming teachers in the church as well.

There are a number of established businessmen n businesswomen in church and many young entrepreneurs lurking around gleaning wisdom from each other and sharing thoughts on how to better their business.

> Clicking Cameras away

1a.m Click are constantly taking photographs. You see them at every event and even carrying cameras during non-event time .. just in case!

> haunt the cinemas

the media team does haunt the cinemas at every new movie that come out and they even organise media team outing to special movie fair like the recent Japanese movie fair. we read subtitle for the entire show.

Eaglepoint Fundraising Dinner at HGH Hall Sentul

It was a successful event! The hall looks great, the food was good and the show went on with minimal glitch and many people came filing in.. and they were even early unlike chinese-wedding-dinner-time! " =)

Here's the crew on duty under the commandership of CHRIS TAN, the Event Producer for the Fundraising Dinner. He's the man that run the overall event with various one chipping in help. Kel was of course the Director that was in charge of coming out with the flow of the event. I was the Stage Manager making sure the people and things that's supposed to be on stage to be on the stage! hehee... Nic Lim was the soundman, Sin Cheow the projectionist, Kareem and Chrystin was helping on the video side... and not to miss out the Fundraising Committee led by Mark Lai and includes Jannette Lim, Steven Wong, Steven Chua , Pierrce Ho, Michael Lee, May Chong, Kok Kin, and many more hands and resources were chipped in.

There were booths set up for various items for sale in support of the event as well.

T4C and their powerful vocals held the attention of the crowd from the beginning.

The Fairytale Festival Band also shared a few songs with the crowd, bringing laughter and smiles.

Nina took her testimony and a dance to the stage as one of the lives changed in this house.

There were some sponsored items for auction during the night and those lucky few walk away with their treasures.

The MC that stole the limelight of the night with his wittiness.

The highlight of the night as the signed jersey of Ronaldo brought the auction to the whopping RM16500! Donated generously by Mark Ng.

We were so honoured to have YB Teresa Kok join us, even though for a short time, but her encouraging words will carry long and far to us in this journey!

The evening's performances close with 1a.m. Relent as they share the works they have done over the years that had touched not just our country but even in overseas! The songs they sang were no stranger to us as fellow church members sang along with them. Such family-ness!

Oak Printers has generously sponsored the printing of the notebook for our event! A simple notebook but within the pages, we've included various testimonies of the lives that's been changed at our church!

The evening came to a close with the committee coming together to give thanks and glory to God! It's a wrapped, guys!

Cyberwellness Workshop

Am sitting here in this workshop since 10am plus. The workshop is so good for parents that I feel so many more parents should be here. So many relationships are disconnected and broken because of parental ignorance and crude commands from parents to teens because they do not know how to handle children+internet/games world or worse, do not even know what is happening in the cyber world to be a voice of guidance to their children. Usually ended up with a curt command to shut it off or accusation that they are useless.

Coming for a Cyberwellness for 5 hours would have definitely rebuild parent-child relationship for the next 50 years and more.

The speaker, Keith, ended the session with a video that says... "disconnect to reconnect." We could be in either ways - we could be the ones that's all the time connected to the internet/games/newspaper/work that we are not talking to our children or we are allowing our children to be connected to the internet/games world that they are disconnected from us. No matter which category we are at, there should be a balance we need to draw so that life is balanced. So, being parents, like Keith say, when you ask you children to put down the computer games for time spend with you, you will need to put down that phone/pda to spend time with them as well.

If parents do not catch up with the world they will be the ones left behind farther and farther away... =)

Fundraising Dinner

My brothers and sisters in Christ alike,

How wonderful to share my thanksgiving on this night;

First of all I thank God for this day,

For fellowship and worship before we go our way;

And for his son, Jesus, who came to earth to save,

He redeemed us all, while triumphantly rising from the grave.

I thank this church, and all who run this place,

From administration, pointcast, music, lights and sounds,

To the cell group leaders, and kidzone where ‘joy’ abounds.

Your skills and experience used nobly to build others up,

God has promised to bless your talents as he fills your cup.

We are based on believe, belong and become;

As parts of the body of Christ, acting as one.

Without you, the church would not be as it is now,

It makes this house of God leave us goin WoW!!

I and we especially want to thank a man who is friend to the multitudes,

Melvin - coming out from the past to a God future

Last Sunday, I read this testimony from The Point of Eaglepoint Damansara and I was so inspired that I've asked permission from Pastor Shawn and Melvin to post it here to inspire you as well! And I just got to know that Melvin is in fact, the nephew of Carolyn, Mark Ng's wife. If this is not a small world, then I don't know what else is. So, here it is:

Before I came to know God, I lived a life without purpose and lived a life full of troubles. Going out with friends late at night, addicted to alcohol and tobacco. Coming from a broken family I felt very insecure in life and also extremely alone.

In January 2009, I came to know this church Eaglepoint Damansara. Here, I accepted Christ as my Lord and savior. In April, I attended Victory Weekend without much expectation. But I was very wrong. Over that weekend, I really felt God's presence in my life. I got rid of addictions, curses and everything that have been holding me back as a believer.

What I want to share is whenever someone asks me about my mum I will tell them that my mum had passed away. The truth is my mum is still alive. When I was around 7-10, my mum was unfaithful to my dad and my dad filed for divorce. My life then was in turmoil. My dad became addicted to alcohol and soon after he went to work elsewhere, leaving me alone with my grandparents.

For around 10 years I have been telling people that my mum has passed away, as instructed by family members. I felt most lonely in life. I really hated my mum and blamed her for everything. Because of her I do not have a complete family, my life was miserable and my dad changed to become an alcoholic. I never told anyone about this and sometimes I had sleepless nights thinking about it.

Victory Weekend gave me the opportunity to get rid of this burden. After sharing to my leaders (the very first people I talked to about my mum) and the situation that has been bottled up in me for years, I felt God and the Holy Spirit ministering to me and comforting me. I felt so liberated! The hate relationship I had with my mum was magically gone. The unforgiveness and insecurity in me was also gone. It felt great to finally have someone to talk to about this. The problems I faced in the past do not bother me anymore in life. Now if I meet my mum, I just want to acknowledge her and thank her for giving birth to me.

Today I have a rock solid foundation about what I believe.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” - Jeremiah 29:11-12

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10

When I came to KL, I came here just to get an education. But here, I found all that I am looking for. I found this wonderful church and been placed in an amazing Life Group. I found comfort, I found peace, I found purpose and I found life in Him.

Remember Japan in Prayer!

Current Nuclear situation – Pray for breakthrough in handling the situation.

Relief Works – Pray for all the relief works / searching for survivals, relocating of families, distribution of food / sufficiency of resources

Relief Workers – Pray for those who are in the front line who will risk their lives for others. Pray for strength and courage

Wisdom in Leaders – Pray that the leaders will rise up and lead this nation though the crisis with divine wisdom.

Peace – Pray against panic / depression / despair. Pray for the peace of God to rule and reign in hearts of people

Churches – Pray for Churches to rise up in faith and stand in the gap. Pray that the Church will shine in the midst of darkness

Open Heart – Pray for open Heaven and open hearts in this Nation for the love of God

Happening Now!

The Marriage Course has received such good response from previous year that it's back with a bang! This course will bring couples through a series of topic that will help strengthen marriages to last!

Victory Weekend will be happening this weekend! This is the best step towards a lifetime of freedom from past hurts... those that you are aware of and even those that you are not aware of but God will reveal.... all these are done just so that you can walk free, walk light, walk without heavy baggage! If you've not gone for one, you have got to go for it!

There is definitely more to working like dog to a working adult. But what is that more? You can find out from the MORE OF HIM camp coming up! Working adults, grab this chance for a time of fun and refilling into your lifestyle.

Coming up in the month of April, Pastor Timothy will take the church onto a journey where you, me, him, her and them can all discover who is God and who He can be to you, me, him, her and them! =) Invite you friends ... especially those that are in your Go Card... so that they too can discover God for themselves!

Next up is PLAYGROUP launch! Parents, learning to play with your child is equally as important as disciplining them. Building relationships with your child starts young as they are... and it will keep the relationship for years to come.

Kidzone New Campaign

Kidzone Pyjamas PArty

Few weeks back, Kidzone organized their annual pyjamas party for the kids! it was all loud and noisy and so much laughter happening everywhere on the second floor of the same building with the serious preaching service going on at the ground floor!

Bee Kim and Juliet (Kidzone teachers) both having a quick discussion for the day's event. All the teachers came proudly in their pyjamas. It was real funny when Pastor Tim was honoring Ps Steven and his wife (Bee Kim) in the service and here comes Bee Kim in her messed up hairdo and pyjamas standing at the front of the hall, right next to her smartly dressed husband.

The intermediate class was having a game in the dark.

... and the senior kids were having a pillow fight in the other room!

Kareem's Birthday

Just now the office staffs celebrated Kareem's birthday with pizza party and many snacks from various contributions! Everyone is supposed to come with 3 words to describe Kareem... here are some words that cropped up - generous, creative, loyal, thoughtful, innovative, passionate, influential... oh yah.. his best-est friend said - Kareem is Awesome!

Experiential Staff Outing!

For many years, we'd suggested to have office staff outing or staff trip away and somehow it did not happen and suddenly, at the first office devotion of the year, Pastor Tim announced that we will take an overnight staff trip from 19th to 20th of January! and that's when things started to pick up...

Pastor Steven has been assigned to pull together the trip and he'd been on the phone ever since - looking for a bungalow to stay, calling up restaurants to find out where we can have dinner, calling up the various 'activity' options, calling up to ask about which movie we can all go together... but in the end we decided not to do an overnight thingy.

But here's the final plan ... he set the theme to be an 'Experiential Outing'...

We locked up the church after the Frontier Learning Centre students finishes (some of them had to wait for their parents at the kopitiam behind church) and all of us head over to Mid Valley - meeting point: Info Counter @ Centre Court! But there were some delay and so we started off quite late. But nothing could dampen the spirit as we rush there to kick start the experience!

First up - GALACTIC LASER! For those of us who dare brave it, we suit up for the mission ahead! It's back to Red Team against Green Team! We didn't divide ourselves but somehow standing in two rows so we were instantly put into teams like that!

We were to go into the 'galactic' and basically hide or shoot others or be shot! Loads of running around and screaming for the 3 ladies that went in! It was exciting yet funny for me at the same time! hahahah... But Jaime opted out of the game as she deem it to exciting for her!

Red Team won of course - no surprise there (I was, of course, in the winning team). ahahaha.. But the surprise came when we check the score chart and realised that Pastor Tim was one of the highest scorer! He's Raven, the ultimate champion with 7200 points! Good thing he's a pastor, else he would make a good predator! I was Shadow... being shot by Neil & Max!!

The entire office (plus me behind the camera) were present, joined by Pastor Tim's family! It was huge fun! They were supposed to be in galactic hero poses but.... failed lah! hahaha...

After a hectic game, we were all given a 30min massage - either foot or half body! For some, it's a first time. The Thai way of massage involves a lot of bones 'crackling' sound as the lady pull and tug and step on you!! But everyone came out satisfied, happy and instantly lighter! Jaime even commented that her nose is no more blocked!

Just can't resist that shot! It's CHRIS LEONG! hahahaha...

Instead of just a typical sit down dinner and since the theme is experiential, we were ushered into RED BOX Karaoke for buffet and of course, 4 hours of singing and screaming into the four microphones! There were two yee sang that came with the package and everyone was just enjoying the moment and 'lou' for everything.... someone even shouted for 'a wife'... ahhaha.... which got us started laughing all over again. (traditionally, the chinese will say blessed words during the 'lou' or mixing up the ingredients).

There was two groups of people in the room.
Group 1. Pick all the Chinese song, especially sad and teary kind + sitting there laughing at the other group
Group 2. Pick all the English songs, especially the latest and current ones + making hilarious antics to be laughed at!

Even Joanna got her turn! She was holding the mic and doing her own moves. But when we selected 'The Five Little Ducks' for her to sing for real, she got all shy. But we had our laugh when the music video came on! ahahhaa...

First shot of the day of Pastor Steven. He couldn't join us earlier and came during the karaoke time and immediately started off with a chinese song!

See Pastor Tim laughing there? He was surprised when Joel took the mic and did a fast rap song from the beginning til the end with Joash singing the vocals part of the song. We were all wow-ed! hhahaahahha...

Last shot after I got forced to sing a song too! Not that I don't want but I couldn't read the chinese lyrics and usually mumble half the song away! This is my problem when I go to karaoke but of course everyone have to sing something! Chrystin sang the whole Taylor Swift song - Love Story! Jaime did a Westlife song!

But back to this last shot. It's Jaime, Teresa, Pastor Tim and PC all sitting there and Pastor Steven (not in the pic) all singing 月亮代表我的心 (Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin / Let the moon represent my heart). A classic mandarin song that I think all Chinese knows how to sing! Can see Joanna already slept there.

After a couple more songs, it's time to go home. For me, it's time to knock out but for the rest of them, they were all set and ready to go over to PC & Kel's house for an overnight board game session!

Well, that's all for the half day staff outing but it was indeed experiential, thanks to Pastor Steven for making all the arrangements. It's good for the team that works together to find time to play together! What I like was that it's not just meet, eat and leave but we actually did spent time together!

That's all for today... and yeah... it's gonna end with dinner at Frank & Cecilia, tomorrow night! Each year, they invite the whole church staff for a dinner and from past experiences, they cook the best food - the kind that I love! So I'm excitedly anticipating for tomorrow night! Being church staffs have it's cons and limitations in certain ways but it definitely does not lack in TLC, blessings and fellowship!! =)

It's all about blessing and eating today! Not sure why but some how it's about eating today. People that came back from overseas brought us food and Kareem came back from Ipoh brought us food also...

After devotion, during announcement time = eating time!

Someone from our chinese church started a lunch delivery service and we planned to eat together today! Her business must be very good. When we call about 12pm, already almost sold out. Maybe cos we use the 'Eaglepoint' venue, we got free soup and free egg... I think usually need to add money for those..

Yesterday, some of the pastoral plus some of the office staffs, went for a 10am-3pm brand workshop conducted by Joescher Chee from the company CC+J. He also serves at Eaglepoint Damansara. He runs a company with the tagline - MAKE BRANDS FAMOUS!

Joescher has sat in multiple trainings himself and has graciously shared his knowledge and experience with us. His company has also committed to served Community At Heart for the past couple of years. They are the ones that come out with the website development and maintenance and also produce the branding and event media for Community At Heart.

Honestly, I think one day is not enough to brand Eaglepoint. We only managed to work through a few of the agendas. The workshop came about because Eaglepoint is growing (yeah!) and we needed to standardise some of the taglines and names and such to bring about the most accurate representation of who Eaglepoint wants to be.

Our Brand Positioning is now:

In Eaglepoint, once a friend, always a friend... whether he'd flew off to Palmeston North, a small town with more sheeps than human in New Zealand, for the past couple of years or whether she'd flew off to Adelaide for the past year!

Jasmine and Nai Chen (more fondly known as Nike) both came back to KL at almost the same time, so we all squeezed out time to meet up... and it was really squeezed out because we had no other time where everyone is available so we met at midnight hours at the mamak at Centre Point. Seriously, for me, it's been a long time since I go lepak at such late hours!

Both Nike and Jasmine served in 1a.m. Dance once upon a time and ever since, the ties had been glued and I guess serving together has brought friends for life. We are waiting for them to come back to the team!

Not much on reminiscence but more on catching up on what had happened and what will happen. what I like most was that there was no strangeness or 'kekok-ness' and everyone wanted to come at such off hours just to catch up when I say Jasz and Nike is back!!

...yeah.. and that is Nai Lin behind there with the funny face! She thinks that she can quit the dance team but it's just... 'all in her own mind'... once a dance team, always a dance team! =)

The Heavenly Gift!

As Pastor Tim had announced over the weekend, we have collected about RM107k! Yeah! and Yeah to all the volunteers that made it all happened! Without your resources and time, it would not happened. A Big Thank You to all of you! (please reply me evaluation email so that we can improve for next year)

After purchasing, we would sort it according to profile numbers and then a group of volunteers will come to help wrap them up and then pack it into homes by homes. Although sounded simple but it took a lot of sorting and going through and trying to minimise mistakes so that the children will get the best heavenly gifts.

One of the pillar of this event is Agape Yeo. We lean on each other's strength and encouragement during this whole week of buying and sorting and buying and sorting and more buying and sorting.

Anyone can come and wrap. In fact, I encourage the community to come and help to wrap too. Charleen rallied her classmates to come and do community services by wrapping gifts and I left to their capable hands to wrap the packs!

For me, this was one of the most touching family scene. It was Christmas eve and the Yeo sisters were here to support each other and help to finish up. Me and Agape were slowly sorting out the shoes that came last minute and then Renee and Ken brought the baby and maid along to help and were energised to speed up the process. Then Bee Sean and the third sister came along with dinner and fed us and then helped out together. I couldn't resist the photo-moment!

Knowing that they are all taking care of the shoes, I left to IOI mall to shut down the booth. It is the last night of The Heavenly Gift booth at IOI Mall. We were tired after almost 20 days of volunteering at the mall but we were not too tired to excitedly tear down and pack up everything! Last photo before going home to wrap our own Christmas gifts!!

Just want to thank all the volunteers again for your time and hardwork in making the event a blessing to our community! I was really encouraged each time I visit the booth and see the volunteers relentlessly talking to the shoppers even after multiple rejection, they can all still laugh about it and move on to approach another shopper!

For the month of December, my phone rang the most times and the more frequently asked question I have to answer is "I'm on duty at Old Wing or New Wing ah?"... hahaha... Finally my pathetic, taped up schedule can rest in peace! After enduring days of scratched off names, refilled names and folding and unfolding.

After the closing of the booth comes the next exciting chapter of THG - the DISTRIBUTION! I think 26th was the most exciting day as I see volunteers coming to get the gift packs to head over to the various homes and run a small Christmas party for the children.

The volunteers prepared games and food and carols to have a fun time with the children. It's good to see everyone willingly step into the homes and join the children in laughter and a little childishness.

The joy and the laughter you can see from the faces of the children were priceless. I believe it's worth all the sleeplessness and the stress and the rejections from some of the shoppers. We made a positive change to our community, we brought "Heavenliness" to our community and we brought back compassion to the volunteers!

Each zone kind of helped to organise the Christmas party for one of the homes we championed but as for me, I championed the poor family food distribution on the 26th. Early in the morning we were gathered at Tesco to count the stocks and pile the goods into the van and cars to drive over to the Enggang Apartment community hall. Honestly, I was gladly surprised to see more than 80 volunteers turned up to help out at the distribution. Many hands make light work. They started taping up the boxes and aligning them and packing food into the boxes per family.

Joseph Gan and Pastor Timothy Loh, the two founders of Community At Heart, were there to help out as well. They were both sweating yet still laughing and enjoying themselves as their pack food and toiletries into their boxes!

There were volunteers from all walks of life. The married couples, the working adults, the teens, and the children can help out.

After the food were packed, it's now time to register the families and let them in. Our guy volunteers were inside queuing up inside to help carry the heavy food packs for the families. They each walked a few rounds just to help to carry - without complains! I absolutely salute them for their dedication and willingness just to serve.

After the food distribution, we also co-organise a children Christmas party with Malaysian Care and some of our volunteers stayed on to for their second round of the day. They started at 10am and end maybe at 10pm..? I was almost ready to crash to a knocked out sleep but they were still serving as I head home to shower and change before heading to a family Christmas party for the rest of the night.

The chapter has closed for The Heavenly Gift for now but soon, it will be the next chapter opening when we gather all the shoppers who volunteered to a round of meeting up and briefing on how they can make a positive change to the community.

What a way to end the year.

It was indeed a year of many happenings and I don't even know where to begin. But first off, yours truly has just turned 30 years old and I would like to steal a little of the time to thank God for his faithfulness and blessings in the past years. Without Him, there would be no me and no today definitely. That I am sure of. Besides thanking God, I also took a little time to thank some close friends who stood with me and accepted me over the years. So, I threw a small party at PC's house on the 17th. One of the first gifts was 99 stalks of roses! hehehe...

Poor PC. She cut her finger with the knife while preparing the food. We were gonna have steamboat.

The discipleship girls started coming and we all chipped in to prepare. As I was thinking about throwing this party, I just realised that we girls were in this discipleship group for about 6 years together. Wow. Without us realising it, it was already 6 years that we shared lives and shared tears and heart. Although we were not all best of friends but we did go through some of the good times and bad times together. It was a beautiful thought for me. So, the party was especially dedicated to thank them.

They asked around and know that Words is my love language and so they made this specially for me. There's a chocolate with a verse for 30 days! haaha... I almost cried when I saw it. It was most thoughtful of them!

Immediately the next morning was followed by a wedding. Some of you may know them - Kevin Tan & Laurene (Chai Leng). They were with us when studying at at IMU and is still very much a part of Eaglepoint even now. The wedding was held at One World Hotel. It was a beautiful wedding and all of us were happy to see them get married since they were high school sweethearts and had been dating for so long! I'm sure the people who are most happy would be their parents!

Caught the cheeky face of Pastor Shawn & Jill's daughter (Kristen) and can't resist to post it up! hahhaa...

The wedding crew were powered by some Eaglepoint-ers! I was NOT the coordinator but YC ended up cue-ing the sound?! YC the soundgirl?! hahaha..

Aww... PC and the bride. She was also the one that shared a verse during the ceremony in the morning. Pastor Steven was the "spiritual MC" and Pastor Shawn preached a message.

Followed closely was the church staff christmas gift exchange party! yahoo! Was supposed to be a lunch thing but due to changes in schedule, ended up being a breakfast thing. The night before, many of us toong-siew (work overnight) and stayed at church and woke up to the party! hahaha... Everyone was supposed to come in something red or green and bring a present for another staff that they picked the name out of a bag. They were also supposed to share one thing they discovered about the person in the week preceding this event.

I wanted to thank the staffs and so the food was on me this morning! It was a Malaysian breakfast - there was sausage and egg and bread and there was pau and siew mai and such - whatever goes. Everyone tried to discover something new about their colleague and shared. I got something from Pastor Steven - Tesco Voucher! hahaha... Pastor Tim actually sms-ed Aaron to find out what would Chrystin like and got her a hand bag! wow! hahaha..

Then, it was Christmas Service already. Felt like we just had the Christmas service last year and now it's already here and over. This year, 1a.m. pulled the plugs and did a musical journey with the FLC ensemble! It was really good!

Cuzario's drummer students came together for one of the piece as well!

And of course Pastor Tim preached on the gift that changes everything!

Every year, PC and Kel will throw a family party some time during the Christmastime. Gathering all the family together for a meal. For the past few years, it was held at Pastor Tim's house but THIS YEAR, they moved into their own house by the lake and we were all gathered at their place! I was the god-sister so I got invited annually too ...

Being a chemist by education, she was not preparing salad but making a "chemistrically-felt-right-mixture" of the ingredients!

I helped to grill the chicken wings...

After that, there was the Community at Heart post coming up. And I left to Bali for a break with Yean Ching and Jocelyn. Annual retreat from the busyness in life! See you next year!

The Heavenly Gift is a project by Community at Heart partnering with IOI Mall, where we offer free gift wrapping services, at the same time making known the community needs to the shoppers, encouraging them to join us in making a positive change to our community. It has started on the 3rd of December and will adjourned on the 24th!

This is how the booth looks like a day before we put up the profiles and the bunting at old wing. I was both nervous of how things will turn up yet really excited to see how things will turn out!

Eaglepoint Damansara student team took a time slot and chipped in their efforts as well. They were so diligent and unabashedly introduced the profiles to shoppers and collected over a thousand ringgit for their time slot... and of course photo taking is a must part of the event!

This week, IS THE PURCHASING WEEK! Purchasing week spells out to 3 to 4 days of buying and buying and buying and buying.... you get the idea... Last year, we spent one whole day from about 11am to around 8pm at Jusco and then unload to office and head over to Tesco to continue another round. This year, we spent half day at Tesco for the first day, about 12pm-10pm on day two at Tesco again, about 2pm-9pm on day three, two hours at Jusco on day four and 11am-2pm at Tesco and another couple of hours at Mydin just now. Every single gift pack are bought with thoughts and different from another pack.

These are round one of the uniforms and I called in the teens to help sort it out.

This was day two, round one spending at Tesco.

See how long is the list? hahaha... even the staffs at the shop was staring at how much stuffs we bought. Four trolleys piled full. It was indeed tiring. Me and Chee Wei was in charge of buying for BRO, Agape and Joanna was buying for Shelter Homes, Keith and Tabitha was buying for Rumah Juara and Rumah Shalom. I think we practically cleared all the uniforms at Tesco between the few of us!

Upon reaching office, everything will be sorted to profile numbers, ready to be wrapped and then we will do a final run through the list again to ensure each child's pack is not left out before we sealed it into the big bag according to homes. It is a lot of work and a lot of mixed up that caused us to constantly revisit the list to compare. Friends and family from all walks of lives contributed to make THG a success... from the teens, working adults, parents, CEOs, Businessmen, students and the mothers that cannot be stationed at the booth, came to wrap these gifts for the children at office.

two nights ago, pastor tim called me and asked if i could resurrect the christmas tree... so yesterday, after spending thousands at tesco, me n keith came back around 10:30pm to start working on resurrecting the christmas tree and ..... tah dah..... below is the result and we finish around 1am! (then, keith went home and started decorating the christmas tree at his house till 3am)

see?! told ya i've spend thousands at tesco! this is just round one of many rounds! IT IS THG PURCHASING WEEK! By the time me n Keith came back from Tesco, it was so late that nobody was here so two of just walked like a hundred times up and down the stairs to bring everything from the car to the kids room 2! by the time we finish, we were drenched in dripping sweat...

The Heavenly Gift

Every year, or at least from the past few years, from the first Friday of December till Christmas eve, Community at Heart organised THE HEAVENLY GIFT at IOI Mall.

It all started when we did not know what to do but wanted to bless the community and so we organised groups of friends to wrap gifts for our community during Christmas month in the year 2007! But ever since then, The Heavenly Gift had transformed to be an annual community event partnering with IOI Mall to bridge our community with the needy.

But we still keep the Station 1 but renamed to ANGEL'S GIFT PACKS. We still do free gift wrapping services to our community first but it has also serve as attraction point for shoppers to come to us.

Then, there's Station 2 & Station 3 (PICK A GIFT & BE AN ANGEL). Where we encourage the shoppers to sponsor a profile or sign up as volunteer to serve the community with their skills. We put up profiles of orphan's Christmas wish presents at a tall Christmas tree. And there are always a shortage of volunteer help to distribute food and to do visitation. So, if you have a heart to do community work, there is definitely a spot for you to fill in.

Yesterday I missed a celebration! The celebration of the multiplication of the LG. Alan & Jaime was leading one LG and the group has grown so fruitful that they have now multiplied to two LG with Dennis and Peggy leading one LG now! Well, a big congratulations to all of them!

Just, FYI, me and Chrystin went to visit the bridal fair at Mid Valley exhibition hall yesterday. I was trying to collect information as a wedding coordinator and Chrystin was obviously looking for ideas for her wedding. I guess we had high expectations for a fruitful night but it was really just a bridal shop affair with the vendors literally dragging us into their booth and would not let us pass without taking a seat! I felt like we were ambushed! hahaha... but there were some good deals. If you are ready to get a package and knows what you want, no harm checking in but if you have no idea and not planning to sign up yet, then maybe doing online research would be better for a start! =)

Combined Service with Pastor Steve Murrell

Ok. This is kinda long overdue but then no excuses... just a teenie weenie bit swamped here in the office ever since APEC... (will post about APEC later) .

This combined service was super special because for the first time in Eaglepoint history, three Eaglepoint churches came together in one combined service!! Talking about that, let me take this opportunity to thank you if you've hosted some or any of the friends and family from Eaglepoint Penang! Thanks Thanks Thanks!

As usual, we kick start with the 1a.m. Youth Band and Kidzone for the first song! This sure got parents hyped up!

Then 1a.m. band took over leading everyone into praise worship!

Then we had Pastor Jonathan Lim from Eaglepoint Penang to collect offering translated by Jia Huey from Eaglepoint Damansara!

Pastor Shawn from Eaglepoint Damansara was the chairman but Pastor Timothy took the stage to welcome the new spiritual family members.

1a.m. Dance team did our own share of welcoming with a dance number with the song "You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home". From the first moment I heard the song months earlier when I watched the movie Hannah Montana, I was already set in my head that it will be a good song to dance for the Welcome to the Family celebration. Indeed, Doreen did such an outstanding job with the choreography with dancers from Eaglepoint and Eaglepoint Damansara practicing for more than a month. They were all amazing!! So Proud Of My Team! hehehe... I know... a little hard sell...

After that, the most awaited speaker of the month, Pastor Steve Murrell, the President of Every Nation ministries, shared the word. If you do not know, Eaglepoint is not an independent church but a church that is part of Every Nation worldwide ministries with church planted at more than 50 nations. Pastor Steve and some of the other pastors were here for APEC conference and also made the time to grace our combined service.

Of course, combined service ends with satay party! Even the foreign pastors couldn't resist the smell of barbequed meat and had to have some before they head to "real lunch."

If you've been there at the combined service, you walked in, found a seat, chat with the person on the right, stood up to cheer for your kids or sang a worship song, sat down again and listened to the sermon then excitedly ran out to get satay, had your fill and drove home, let me tell you that behind the scenes, A LOT OF people chipped in to get you that experience and convenience.

More than just a half day's work for the rest of us... the band had practice after practice, the crew all came in in the middle of the night to load equipments to the hall, woke up before dawn to go setup and run rehearsal, ps steven went out real early to get breakfast buns for all the volunteers on duty, the ushers stood for so long with a smile on their faces to welcome people, the dancers had sweat after sweat of practices, the event team ran around like headless chicken early in the morning to prepare the place, the booths, ensuring satays are there for everyone...

nothing just happened... everything was effort. Next time you are at a combined service or just a service, please do remember the volunteers on duty was the effort that made your day! =)

Aaron & Jaq Now And Forever - behind the scenes

ok... maybe i'm not behind ALL THE SCENES but I was behind SOME OF THE SCENES during their wedding. First of all, I just want to say that Aaron & Jaq are such a down to earth couple that some times I feel I was being more particular about the details than they were about them! But then again, I can't help seeing the details bigger than the big picture! hahhahaha...

The evening before the wedding morning, I asked nailin for help to produce the program sheets and she called in a few of the students to join in and little did we know, it took so long that even with the six of us, we took around 6 to 7 hours! Dead tired by the time I drove home at midnight! But I heard that the bride could not sleep and came down to chat with Nai Lin some time around 2am?? Does all brides have bridal jitters the night before? mmm.... (Jaq was staying at Pr Shawn & Jill's house that night)

Nice or not?? Please say nice!!A lot of effort were put in. I was told to come out with the program sheet a couple of days before the wedding day! Sometimes I amazes myself! =)

Nai Lin told me the color theme was white or pink but then I think the other chi muis came in maroon...?!?! Jaq's mom commented that I look like a 'bride' ... erm... that was kinda embarrassing! ops...

all the chi muis that came out with the tortures for the heng tais! They even sms Jia Huey (their leader) to get permission not to be angel for the morning and Jia Huey replied "Permission Granted"!!! hahahaha...

That's Jaq's brother behind the gate. Poor him! We had to lock him out because he was the assigned person to open the bridal car door when Aaron arrives (traditionally, it's the younger brother or cousin or nephew that does it). We locked him out when Aaron said that he'll be there in 3 mins but he arrived 30mins later! So, Jaq's brother came all the way back from Germany to stand outside in the hot sun and 'sweat it out.' . . . . .

I was standing nearby when they were squeezing wasabi to the 3 spoons and Philee walked over and calmly said in her cute voice, "Be generous. I don't need the tube back." Took a moment to sink in and then all of us burst out laughing! OMGosh!! The angels were really no angels in broad daylight!!

See that below? It's bread soaked in SUPER SOUR APPLE CIDER! The smell was enough to put me off and I can't imagine how the guys managed to gulp it down! EWWWWW!!!

They actually started off with the bitter gourd!! Seeing the guys' faces here already let you know that it's terribly BIT-ter!

There was bitter, sour, hot-wasabi, there must be sweetness... and I mean honeyed-eggy-sweet! gross!

ok. I'm not really sure they were drinking the honey or the sour bread but Chee Chiaw's expression is priceless but the glimpse of Aaron here seems to tell that not only the chi muis were laughing....

After all the eating and angpaus and penalties, the guys searched for the keys in a tub full of ICE-COLD water to open the gate while the chi muis retreated to the other gate!

And guess what the girls thought of to TORTURE the guys?! OMG-NESS! They waxed the guys! And the last I heard before I went upstairs was them calling Joescher's name because he was always bullying the girls during weekend in church! hahahaa...

This is Mun Hong, Aaron's best friend since childhood days and he was the bestman, of course, first to 'gets it'! Not sure if biting his belt helps but at least he didnt scream out! hahaha... one funny guy if you get to know him!

Aaron gets it too! He didn't eat any of the stuffs but after none of the guys put forth their legs for the dare, he's got to do it himself! ahahhaa... good of Mun Hong to let him bite! I kinda 'kesian' all the heng tais being tortured. I wished that they would have explained all the reasons behind doing all those actions like from now they will have to go through 'tian, suan, ku, lat' in life and proclaiming his love for her loud enough for the whole world to know ... that kind of thing and not just for the sake of torture...

See the patches? hahahaha... and I heard that the guys waxed the rest of their leg after we left the house. The photos of the waxed pieces were all over facebook albums! gross....

After the wax, the guys were made to sing a Hokkien love song and then guess the room door and struck a final 'sexy' pose before Aaron was finally allowed to see his bride! Not sure if this means going through thick and thin but definitely torture after torture...

next on, to the groom's house!

Jaq's really a shy one. When the photographer say give a kiss, she immediately say no! And when ask to do this nose-to-nose pose, she was shaking in giggles!

Aaron's parents, the groom and bride and Jaq's parents. They were all super-sporting parents! After this pix, the photographer asked the parents to struck poses by themselves!! They were giggling like school kids! hahahhaa...

That's Nai Lin blow-drying Jaq's hair! Jaq called Aaron asking for the hair-dryer that belongs to his father but Aaron was unsure if he would lend it to her - in which I laughed and jokingly told him that his dad was such a exhilarated-new-father-in-law for the day that he would give her anything that she wants! True to my words, he came with the hair dryer few minutes later! hahahaa...

Proud to say that I tied that flower to the ribbon to the chair for the tea ceremony at Aaron's new house! yeah! first attempt successful!

We all proceeded to the hall for the wedding ceremony. It was such an eventful happening that I told Pastor Steven that I had to take medical leave the next day cos of post-wedding-ceremony-traumatic-experience! =)

Right when we want to start the ceremony, the sound system died - zilch sound! Once it's up and we wanted to start the ceremony and the groom stationed in front and the computer went overheated and shut down!

Once that was restarted, halfway through the bridal procession, the song restarted by itself and then right before the bride walks in, this time, the computer restarted by itself! "OMG-NESS-ES-ED!"

Poor Mei, the MC, had to start talking while waiting for the computer to restart! and the Bride can't walk in! It was really one of the most embarrassing moment for the wedding coordinator although technically, it's the problem at the technical side! But all went off well after that and we caught up in timing and the rest of the ceremony went on by itself. I was relieved.

Now, it's dinnertime! All the parents queued up for the grand walk in before dinner starts. You should see it from the outside instead of sitting at the table inside. When Aaron's parents led the grand walk in and the spotlight on them, and the smoke machine whoosh-ed out so much that those of us standing outside were just enveloped in white smoke! I can't help but started grinning but Aaron standing at the end of the line started LAUGHING OUT LOUD at his parent's super grand entrance!!!

After that I stood and waited til Jaq's change of gown before I was done for the night and can start eating. I was sitting at the same table with Alex & Jia Huey and of course Nai Lin and gang. Once KG's band started singing the 'nobody, nobody but you' song, Jia Huey started doing the song's moves with a prawn-stick in hand!! It was hilarious! She's super funny!

This pix was taken almost at the end of the event and after the photo, I congratulated the groom and bride for getting married successfully (which is the MAIN THING)! Time to head home then... around midnight!

Clarity Meeting

If you've not heard of the term, well, it's a meeting where it defines clarity for everyone! hahaha.. Pastor Tim, PC, Kel, Kareem, Max and I were called for the meeting to define roles and responsibilities. And Kareem came out with the chart of hierarchy and all complete with arrows!

Can't exactly tell you the conclusion of the meeting was a hierarchy set but being in a small office, I guess everyone's role still overlaps and it's more on a case to case basis, event to event basis and very much scenario based. But at least some things were set to go for 2011!

Pastor Tim's birthday hi-tea!

Today is Pastor Timothy's birthday! and the church office, of course, will take time to celebrate with him and curi-tulang for a bit! hahahhaa... Actually, Pastor Steven initiated the celebration and Jaime and I went to get the food on the table.

Check out the durian cake! OMG!! Even the inside looks like a durian and it tasted like a durian! It was the favourite must-try for everyone. Specially bought from Tong Kee, suggested by Jaime! (Aint she clever?!)

The home-school violin students played the birthday tune for him!

And Phoebe sent a birthday cake just for him! Good for us to have TWO CAKES!

Everyone shared and honored him and then we prayed for him.

Baptism! by Jeyna Lim

On the 3rd of October, Sunday, many gathered at a day care center in Puchong for one thing. A water baptism session. 22 people were baptized that day but many others showed up to give support and encouragement, making the atmosphere filled with excitement.

Each person that was to be baptized was to say a short testimony on why they have decided to take this step of faith. Elaine Yong mentioned that she wanted to start a new life and Aolani, from teens rock said she was doing it out of an act of obedience towards God.

It was encouraging to hear what they had to say as each of them desired to take the next step in their relationship with God.

As each of them got in an out of the swimming pool after being baptized and prayed for, the crowd sang the ever so famous "I have decided to follow Jesus" song. Followed by cheers and congratulations for each individual. It was a joyous celebration for everyone, both those being baptized and those who were there to support.

One great testimony was of a man who decided to be water baptized even though he had cancer. Though he couldn't get into the swimming pool but he was baptized as Pastor Tim poured water over him. Such a man took a step of faith even in his condition inspired everyone there.

Though the water baptism session was over, but everyone left feeling encourage and inspired to continue their walk with God. You would not want to miss the next one as this step of faith is only the beginning to greater things.

last weekend

after i type the title, i realised that i often post what happened during the weekend.. haha... ops.. but let me start by the week days then...

We celebrated Max's birthday. I think we've grown out of doing surprises. Ps Steven sent email to all the church staffs to gather at 1:30pm to celebrate Max's birthday and cc to Max some more! hahhaa.a..... and then later, while waiting for Pastor Timothy to finish his meeting and join us, we even ran a rehearsal with Max. He walk in to cafeteria and we started singing and then we sent him back to wait in the office for the real thing! hilarious office celebration!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MAX!

i think we all sang happy birthday to him, cut the cake, eat it and I don't remember we pray for him! ops! hahaha..

On Saturday night, we were honoured to have guest speaker, Rev Tamara Winslow at 5ive and SNL. Without a doubt, she brought the presence of God. Sitting there without doing anything, I already feel like I was gonna weep like a baby. And the presence of God was so tangible that I can't even stand but got to kneel in His Presence and open my heart to allow God to go deep. What an anointed speaker. I was glad I was in church service.

and on Sunday, I heard feedback that the crowd were laughing so much and enjoyed themselves and even some of the singles that came were able to glean from the video screening. Did you miss service this weekend? You would have missed a lot! We even celebrated PC's birthday at SNL and Mark & Carolyn's anniversary at Sundays Together.

here comes another highlight... PC's girls/her discipleship girls kidnapped her to lunch today! She thought we are going to Chong Hwa Restaurant for lunch on her treat but actually we quietly booked a table for hi-tea at Equatorial Hotel. She was in Hao Ying's car tailing us that's in Charlene's car and she didnt even realise that we did not make the u-turn to go up from Kesas but head straight on to KL. We didn't need to blindfold her because she's a total lost case whenever we reach KL. ahahaha.... when we arrive, the 3-piece 'band' came and sang happy birthday to our surprise. ahahhaa.. so now the whole coffee house knows.

There was no stressful planning or extravagant activities that we did. We just took time to enjoy each other and chat and spend leisure time. I guess the only thing that was extravagant was extravagant time spent and luxury in friendship.

Instead of a cake, we substituted with mooncake as per Mac's idea. Eight of us were just a call away when we announced that we are celebrating PC's birthday. Everyone cleared their calendar to fellowship with her. That's sisterhood for you!

This is probably the only gift that was prepared. A jar of surprises. Instead of asking everyone to write their wishes for her, which most probably will end up with 'happy birthday' on each paper, I wrote like thirty over question papers and each of the girls wrote their answers for a few pieces and some of her close friends did also. Folded it all into the jar for her to open one by one whenever she needs some cheer. hehehe...

some questions include...if pc is a fruit, what fruit would she be? describe a memorable event you had with pc. if there's one thing you can change about pc, what would that be? if pc is your pet, what would she be? if a corn's biggest potential is a popcorn, what do you think is pc's biggest potential? hahahhaa....

Change Your World Tour...

... happened last Sat, Sep 4, at Sunway Convention Centre. There was a lot of hype on the surface but i believe after the event, many youths responded to the call and stepped in to the ventures to learn more and to contribute to our own community.

But first let me introduce some behind the scenes stories.... starting from the stage and production...

the concert was of course championed mainly by the 1a.m. Relent Band. Daniel (bassist), Cuz (drummer), Jude (keyboard & electric guitar) & Neil (lead vocal & acoustic guitar). The day before the concert, he fell very sick but by faith and much prayers (and tons of bitter 'leung sui') he pushed on to sing the whole night. You would have noticed that he croaked whenever he speaks and the next day, he just totally lost his voice... until even today, he's still resting it...

If you were wondering why did Nina danced in the dark during the opening dance, it was because the bulb that was suppose to spot on her chose to burst right that time, hence there was no spot for her but it's ok... the show must go on!

the dreamers/brains/energy/producers behind CYW are none other than our very own Kelvin & Cathryn Lim. The idea came as a small seed in wanting to make a difference and you've just witnessed how that seed had grown into the CYW at Sunway Convention Centre that night. More and more youths are challenged to come out of their own world to change the world!

Sixteen dancers, laboured over 60 hours of dance routine drilling for the past month. Besides the week night practices, the killer were the 6-7 hours practices every Sundays! By the time i send everyone home, i literally can only crashed to bed! But i truly honor their spirit in working hard together without complain and in one accord towards one goal! Now that it's all over, i do miss the time we spent together every week! hahahaha...

the crew hidden at the back of the hall. they made the sound, lights and video happen at the hall. they are the technical people. i cant even imagine the stress being there making sure the lights and sound coming on accordingly and the video switching from this camera to that camera to create the whole atmosphere! i dont think i want to be the in charge... i'll go crazy!

this is Sin Cheow. i've got to mention a little about him. ever since the first CYW started, he had faithfully took leave for each city that CYW had gone to. he handles all the projection... lyrics, videos, play my songs...

this is charlene to cili padi that's in charge of the stage. she's the stage manager. what and who goes on and off the stage is in her hands. she make sure my chair is taken off the stage, the mic is pass to me at the correct time... she even helped to check the stage floor is without hazardous weapons for the performers like barefooted dancers dancing on industrial staples! PAINFUL! During the break time, she and the stage crews helped to check thru the stage and threw away all the staples that they can find! THANKS THAANKS!

See any faces that you know? Many! that's cos we've mobilised the whole church and church members from other zones and other churches to help out as helper for the event. from security to ushers to selling merchandise to cd redemption to general helpers - ALL church members .. not just from Eaglepoint but from other churches as well. (sorry dont have the facts on all the names of the churches at the moment)

looks like the tee shirts were selling like hot cakes!

besides the event people, the causes that we supports were also there. Tenaganita, Community at Heart, Rakan Cop and Vote Registration Booths... were all there to provide further information for the youths!

ahh.... i must mentioned about GRAFEED! they made over 300 photo frames from scrap boxes and completed the YOU MAKE THE DIFFERENCE wall art. the frames will eventually be given to the poor families via food bank distribution.

they even rallied the graphic students to come out with the 12 pieces of posters with the theme on HUMAN TRAFFICKING. This is what i call creativity with a purpose!

This is Tham. He not only contributed to the poster behind us, he also helped out in a lot of the graphic work for CYW and church wise... he also helped in the upcoming THE POINT cos i was so packed with the happening. Always serving and Never say Never ah... hahahaha..

and of course the youths came with food contributions for FOOD BANK!

behind every successful man, there's a woman... this is Kelvin's mom! if you've ever heard him share his testimony, you would know that aunty prayed for him for many years to see the changes in him and how God called him at the same time that she was praying for him at a different location!

the night kinda slowed down to the MEET RELENT where there was signing of the album by the band members. many ppl had put in much effort for the night... Vincent Puah & Janice were the two coordinators, Ps Steven rallied the event volunteers, Wai Foong came and be PC's assistant/runner/driver for the week, Joyce coordinated with many churches and pastors, SWai, Peter and Hao Jiang were alertly stationed on both side of the stage to help move things on and off stage, Bern was directing the guy on how and when the lights need to come on... and many many more... if i miss out on your name, please add in the comments...

...has come and gone... but has there been CHANGE?
It's up to you and me to make that change happen.

In conjunction with our national day, August 31 (or close to it), KidZone went all out to teach patriotism to the kids.

Stepping up the stairs already made me incredibly proud with the flags along the stairs all the way up to the second floor and into the rooms! I heard that all the teachers involved were asked to come earlier at 9:30am to start decorating the place!

Even the name tags were specially printed! Impressive!

All the teachers came in costumes representing all the races we have in our country - baju kurung, cheongsam, the indian costume and Joey came shirtless representing Orang Asli.. complete with a styrofoam-spear!

How did I spent my public holiday today?

Helping out at the Eaglepoint pastoral photo shoot! hahahaa... the location was Mark & Carolyn's house at Puteri 8. The moment the guy-adults came in and saw the Foosball table, the challenge started - especially for Pastor Tim!

Oh my! He was like playing with whoever that will play with him lah! hahahahaha.... but the winner goes to Daniel (Mark & Carolyn's second son)... according to Pastor Tim and Tabitha (Mark & Carolyn's niece), he's the best but Ashley (Mark & Carolyn's youngest daughter standing there in the pix) challenged to say that Joshua (Mark & Carolyn's eldest son) is better than Daniel. Since Josh didn't come down today so it's a theory yet to be proven!!

one of the highlight was I got to know Tabitha a little today. Always see her walk in and out church office but today we played ball together with Kristen! hahahahaha....

To those of you who've not seen Shane Zachary Kong Kai Wen, the newborn son of Ps Shawn and Jill, here's the photo of the day! soo cute la!

this is how we distract Kristen (Ps Shawn & Jill's eldest daughter) - Tabitha and Sesame Street! Very effective for Kristen and Joanna (Ps Tim & Teresa's daughter)! and Kristen play ball with me today! She's so cute after 'warm-up'.

The fan supposedly helps... ahhaha... first off, family shots, singular shots, couple shots and kids shots... it was fun seeing them pose! hahahah...

the more Joash ask Joanna to smile, the more she's frowning.. don't understand what's going on! ahahaha...

Jessica (from Chinese Church) came to help out with the make up. She's 3 months pregnant and doing a great job too! Anyone needing bridal make up or event make up please give her a call! She also does artistic make up and used to teach these (make up, hairdo, body art, nails and such) in a school...

Yu-Xuan jumped onto her papa and caught on camera... she's such a cute little thingy... and she say she will share her nuggets with me at Next Stop Restaurant.. awww..... so nice of her!

Vitagen! I think we easily scoured a pack or two off the NG family fridge! hahahaha... not just the kids but the teens and the young adults too!!! ahhaahhahaa.... such a highlight! can see the vitagen-faces lit up when they see vaitagen!!

oh yah, the crew-wannabe-poser CHRIS LEONG! hahahaha... this was when we were shooting Ps Jonathan & family (Eaglepoint Penang). His sons were so funny... the shooting took only a few minutes... and then he commented, "hah? like that only ah?" In which I laughed and replied, "yes, 5 hours drive here just for that 2 minute shots!" ahahahaha...

Couple shots... awww... soooo loving hor... Ps Steven say this is the most major photo taking he'd done since his wedding photos! hahahaha...

this was when everyone started teasing pastor steven about his smile, his pose, his leng-chai-ness and everyone chipped in... we made such noise at the park opposite the house! hahahah...

when joel climbed onto chris to shoot from 'above', the photographers started shooting them instead of the 'talents'! hahahahaa...

in order not to spoil the actual shots, i'm just going to post the production shots - my version kind of production shots... cos i'm sure joel n choon ean took better production shots than these! mine was just for blogging purposes! hahahaha...

before the break for lunch, we celebrated Bee Kim & Joash's birthday! The Loh family remembered and came with a cake.

Talking about that, I need to tell you how naughty was your senior pastor... I sms-ed him around 10:40am to ask if they are arriving soon cos his session is 10:45am.. in which he replied my sms saying he thought his session is at 12pm! i panicked merata-rata!!! Right at that time, I got another sms reply saying he's just pulling my leg and the whole family enter the house!! jorr...

the crew - Joseph the main photographer, Joel the production photographer, Choon Ean the pose director and Kareem THE director... ops... not in photo... he came wearing the tee bearing these words "MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION"!!!

so many shoppers ACTUALLY stopped and stared... Pastor Shawn say we should have told the ppl not to miss "the movie coming out on so and so a date" .... ahahahaahahahah...

by the time the Director calls it a rep for the day, it was four plus pm.... I came home and hit the bed straight! Now, excitedly waiting for the photos to come out!! yeah!!!!

Dance Dance Dance

Although me n Doreen had practice yesterday, that did not stopped us from running down to catch Nina and her girls did a contemporary number at Track of Talents! Not bad for a first showcase! =)

After that, the homeschool center that uses our premise also had a contemporary dance routine by their students.

the killer was just now when we went to support Doris, Esther, Aaron and Usher at the Urban Groove Dance Recital. Those ppl are just amazing and seeing them dance is so inspiring. They were on and off the stage so many times that by the end of the show, when Jerry came to us, his shirt was drenched and he threatened to throw it at us! EWWWWW!!!

Doris had her students performed and she did a few numbers too. and we always scream for her unashamedly! hahahhaa... i brought her sunflower... so happens it matches her yellow outfit!

This is Esther, she's one of Doris' students at Urban and also joining us for the CYW dance. i brought her roses and it so happen to match her red costume! hahahaha... she's super versatile and did a few different genres during the entire recital....

ok... the one behind is Aaron and the one in front is Joon Neng or we call him Usher. The three of them are Doris students joining us at CYW dance. Great to have them there but intimidating to be dancing with them as they are like soooooo good! All in all, it was an excellent recital! We had a great time screaming our lungs out! hahahaha.... will see them tomoro for practice again! =)

Come Together - Combined Service

Last Sunday, we had a great time coming together for a combined service. About 500 people turned up for the service and if you did not notice, we had ushers from all nations... though they were encouraged to come in their nation's costumes, i think most of them did not come to Malaysia with it but we still spotted cheongsam, chinese collared shirts and i came in baju kedah... hahahahaha.... i got many stares... hahaha...

when i went to check on the kidzone to see if everything was ok, i got in right on time to see teacher bee kim lost in a game and was punished with 20 sit ups! hahahaha... and so many of the kids wanted to do together with her! i had such a good laugh! all stress from the morning released d.

one of the highlight of the service was when more than 20 people join together for the 'cardboard testimony' and shared the change that God had done in their lives. when i turn around, i saw many were wiping their tears as they cheered for those on stage.

after service, everyone rushed out to join in the satay party!

Ian & Joyce Wedding

Last Saturday, we celebrate together with Ian and Joyce at a simple blessing ceremony at Bankers Club! Joyce is from Eaglepoint Penang and many of them came down for the wedding as well. I can see Pastor Tim shaking hands with all the people that he knows...

As the ceremony move along, I realised that it's such a Eaglepoint wedding... why do i say that?
The coordinator (Jocelyn Tan) is from Eaglepoint, the two chairman (bernard & bee sean) are from Eaglepoint,
the Pastor (Pr Steven) is from Eaglepoint, the preacher (Pr Cathryn) is from Eaglepoint... u get the idea..? hahahahaha... no need to say, many of the guests are from Eaglepoint as well! hhahaha....

oh.. ok.. let me introduce Joon Han. He's working for Eaglepoint Penang! Another church staff! yeah... got to know him a little better from the many flying emails on the manila trip.

Every G2KU...

it's own serving. ok. maybe i'm not making perfect sense but what i meant was that every G2KU is a little bit different. The flow is the same, the topic is the same, BUT the people are different and the after-laughs are different each time!

Although G2KU is my event, i rarely had to look into the event details as i leave it in Yean Ching's capable hands and just focus on the the day presentations and just ensure everything went well. But this time, Ching's no longer with us and my i almost missed out a good many details. Hence, if you noticed, i didnt even dress up the table or put candles and such! hahahaha...

we always start with the church history. not the full history but it gives you a general idea of church. i know it would be better if the background is covered. maybe i should use the other wall instead of this one. the children were usually put in this room and i forgot to arrange a nanny to be inside! ahahhaa... and Jaime volunteered Alyssa on the spot! You should see her on that day... the kids were throwing the toys around and she was panicking and not knowing what to do with them! we had a good laugh together at the end of the day! Finally Chris came to the rescue and organised a little sit down game to restrict their movements! hahahaha...

ice breaker... human bingo for everyone to get warm up and get mixed up! oh, a lady pointed at me and said "hey, sharon!" i looked at her and saw her name is also Sharon! hahahaha..

boys will always be boys. i dont know what to say. maybe they are posers or maybe they are just too big to cramp together in one row that they have to stand sideways! hahhahaha... or maybe they are just wanting to feel how it is to be in a pageant?

Pastor Tim did his usual sharing and introduction of the leaders. He's never boring and all the leaders started with the jokes on finding a spouse from their life group and thus encouraging everyone to join a life group! hahahaha... Pastor Tim, Pastor Steven and Bee Kim actually flew off after G2KU to Manila. Theirs is what i called a 'packed schedule'!

Oh and let me introduce ADRIAN LIM. No, he's not my brother even though I'm Sharon LIM. hahah.. He's Nina's dancer friend. A Filipino that studied and stayed on to work in Auckland, New Zealand, dropped by on his way to EN2010, Manila and so helped us did a little workshop call DANCE HeART on last Saturday.

He's hilarious and such a goofy!! We were never short of laughter whenever he's around. More than that, he'd been a great help, never hesitate to serve when asked and without doubt a worshipper!

For example, let me introduce to you this phrase call 'shopping for choreography'. Whenever we are stuck in choreography, we get the dancers to do free-style and the main choreographer would pick up what she wants and add on the routine. and THAT was what we made Adrian do. We made him free-styled over and over again and then Doreen would pick bits and pieces and add on the routine we are choreographing for the song NEVER SAY NEVER. We also made him choreographed some parts of the song. so we actually took full advantage him! ahahaha... He told me after G2KU that he was physically wasted after all those but he never did complain once when during the sessions but just willing to continue on until some results were achieved! hahahahah... ops...so the dance team bought him a Sold Out tee shirt to thank him!

What i appreciate most about him is the fact that he's definitely a worshipper, not just a dancer. me being a cautious and protective-of-my-flock kind of leader, i've quietly observed him since he arrive. i want to ensure that a worshipper is teaching the dance team and not bringing the wrong messages to what we have built so far. and he definitely aced his way these past couple of weekends!

before he leave, he prayed for everyone and give them each a word he felt is from God. When he prayed for me, he told me that God is doing a new thing in my life and He is giving me a new wineskin for new wine. The word kinda affirmed what i've been going through lately as i try to change what i felt God wants to do with various parts of life.

and here, let me add this - THANKS ADRIAN, FOR YOUR BIG CONTRIBUTION IN EAGLEPOINT MALAYSIA - THE LAUGHTER, THE JOKES, THE TALENT, THE TIME, MOST OF ALL, THE HEART OF WORSHIP AND THE PRAYERS YOU SOWN ON US =)

again, i would like to press that the house of God is made up of many servants and worshippers, do join us in connecting and serving together to make this place glorify God's goodness to those around us! share the load with us if you've got one talent!

Dance Heart

Last Saturday the dance team organised a little workshop called DANCE HeART. The event was birthed when Adrian Lim, Nina's dancer friend from New Zealand popped by on his way to EN2010 and we thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of his resources. So, Nina took on the responsibility of organising the event and even took one of the sessions. Here's what my guest writer have to say.

Dance Heart, was simply awesome.
Nina, Adrian and Doreen, shared their heartbeat for dance.

Dance Heart was put together simply because of the passion of a group dancers. Dance is not just cool, but it can also be a worship unto our Lord.

We start of the event with crazy ice breaker, that helped the participants to get to know each other and after that, follow up with warm up stretches.

Nina start off with the 1st session - Contemporary.

Adrian then showed us the Pop and Lock of Hip Hop

Doreen took the third session. First she inspired us with her passion for dance and then lead us through a cool and sassy choreography.

It's my first time seeing the dance room packed full with dancers! Barely even have space to walk around. Unfortunately, because I was being blur, I mixed up my schedule to be on duty for services, I barely dance =(

Joanna's Birthday

Did i tell you that last Friday i was invited to Joanna Loh's 2 years old birthday? I guess i forgot about it. But here's what I think. it was the cutest thing ever. The cake was cute. The birthday girl was cute and all the presents were cute stuffs and the parents themselves were such a cute couple! Joanna was already sleepy and showing signs of her displeasure of not getting her beauty sleep but the moment everyone starter singing "happy birthday to you..." her face just lights up she started to chuckle and enjoying the attention! That change made everyone started laughing all over the house!

For me, it was a good time to get to know Jannette, catch up with Juliet and Carolyn a little bit and of course play with my god-daughter a lot lot... she is also one of the cute thing that happened there. When i left her upstairs to play, i gave her instructions not to go down the stairs by herself and wait for her mom to come get her. She replied, "ok. i don't cry ok?"
i doubled over in my own amazement and laughter! hahahahahahahahah..... children... amazing!

I think it's been a long time since I wrote about someone in church and so i'll write about someone who's not been here for a long time too!

No, she didn't died but she went to further her studies in the California State University of Northridge (CSUN) about 2 years ago. Let me start back at the beginning...

Couple years back, Marilyn, or more fondly known as Merr Peng (I call her 'girl'), was studying at Limkokwing University and came to join Eaglepoint's life group and later she actually helped to oversee the group of Indonesian students in her life group. During her time in KL, she joined my discipleship group and boy, did we fight! We fight through thick and thin on matters of the bible, on matters over life, over her temper, over her decisions... and that's what brought us closer together and stuck as friends after all these years.

that picture was taken when we took a discipleship trip together to Melaka before everyone left to some where else.. was it two years ago? hahha... we all look soooo young...

But please don't be fooled by her innocent looks. She is mischievous and has her own sense of humor. For e.g., I jokingly said that she's such an obedient girl in which she replied that I've got a leash on her. Before I know it, she tagged me with this drawing at Facebook. She drew this as per our conversation a moment ago. leash on a dog, dragging her along... I just laughed out loud!

If you would ask her what would be the way to plug in to a church, she would tell you to serve in the church! For her, serving helped her connect with the people and understand how the church functions. She would tell you the funny story of how she come to join the powerpoint ministry. So I won't repeat myself here. You can start a conversation with her by asking her about her experience. Last time, when she was here, she was helping me prepare powerpoint and always helping out odd jobs in the church office and just now she told me that after being away a few years, she came back and here we are still sticking stickers onto The Point!! She still fits right in and help out without complain. I remember even after she's gone to the States, there were still a few times I asked her to help me prepare powerpoint slides and emailed it back to me! NOW, THAT's what I call serving wherever you are! =)

There are just some people that you know, there are those that you communicate with but there are those you connect. Merr is definitely some parts of Eaglepoint and Eaglepoint has definitely some bits and pieces in her! =)

Get to know her if u see her in church this weekend. She'll be back to Kuching from Jul 5 for a few weeks before heading straight back to the States. =)

What a weekend!

My apologies if you've been checking out the blog and there had been no update. ops....

Let me start with this... A WEDDING!
Well, not mine... yet... but if you know him, Victor Voon, he got married last Friday with Sophia. They met in UK even though one's from KL and the other is from Sarawak. They got to know at the Malaysian Students Gathering in UK and now they are getting married. And the exciting news was that I was honored to be their wedding coordinator. Honestly, it was really stressful with the Tribute to Parents Day service plus lunch, but I was glad I didn't let them down and pulled through the wedding ceremony and dinner and all the in-betweens.

It was truly a beautiful wedding. When they exchange vows, I was teary eyes myself... the decoration was beautiful and the whole day was just one beautiful chapter of two lives committing to each other from this day forward. I was very happy for them.

The wedding was held at One World Hotel, Bandar Utama. Speaking from the coordinator's perspective of working with them, I've got to say that the banquet staffs were excellent with top-notch professionalism. They had drilling session before the banquet and you could have ask any of the waiters what's on the menu and they would be able to tell you what is the next dish and what is the ingredient as well. I was very impressed! They are definitely event people. I've worked with several hotels but this hotel really did impressed me with their working attitude. Excellent! =)

Instead of the typical backdrop, they actually printed this huge poster-backdrop! Another excellent point to the hotel!

Enough about the wedding even though I can go on and on about it....

On Sunday, Eaglepoint held our very own Tribute to Parents Day at the Ballroom at Bukit Jalil Golf and Country Resort. Although I was a little disappointed to see the hall NOT packed full of parents and families, I was still glad for those who made it. It was such an excellent opportunity for each of us to learn to honour our parents for what they did for us.

We even set up various booths for the early comers to have blood and sugar level test, caricature drawing, balloon sculpture for the children and there was even a golden age corner for the older parents to enjoy a cup of tea while waiting for service to begin. (the tea was really good! =) )

The dancers kickstart with the opening dance - "I wanna be with you" and after praise and worship, the youth band honoured their parents with two songs. The day was not over yet. The leaders then presented a gift to all the parents in the hall. It's just a day for parents to feel blessed! =)

After the service, there was a lunch together. We prepared some games and some activities to help families build their family. The lunch ended with a time where parents and child pledge to build each other in this family. I'm sure everyone was ministered.

After the lunch, I can see smiles and happy faces leaving the hall to go home. But for me, the day was really still not over. There was a planned pastoral dinner. Victor & Sophia had generously given to church the six over-run tables from their wedding day and pastor had invited some of the people that had served in the church faithfully.

It was a night of fun and just plain fellowship. No planned activities, no program flow, just dinner, chatting and enjoy the friendship we've built over the years. It so happen that it was Kel's birthday and I asked Neil to cook up something to celebrate his birthday. They came up with this hilarious act and you will laugh out loud if you see it. Check out the video at Eaglepoint's facebook. I've posted it earlier. It was hilarious. They should be called "1a.m. Comedy & Kareem"... ahhahahaa...

We also prayed for Lady as she's leaving us to go back to Philippines for good. We also prayed for Jill's upcoming delivery and also her mom is waiting for the report regarding a growth. Do keep them in prayer.

The kids were all crazy over the balloons in the room but they couldn't reach it at all. In the end, Vincent Puah came out with this excellent idea and got all the balloons down for the kids. Too bad, he came back to the table with no more food as he went around getting all the balloons. The cake was just too good that nobody saved him a piece. ops again...

I don't know about them, but I was knocked out the moment I touch the bed. Yet it did not deter me from taking a road trip with Nai Lin to visit Trish at Kuantan the next morning. We drove there to meet her - complete with the excited jumping at the hotel door when she arrived. I was soooooo happy to see her and we went to the beach for a while and later hunted for all the local food. Had a quick catch up and chat time with her and the next day, we went to check out her dispensary at the hospital before heading home. And again I was knocked out the moment i touch my bed. ahahahah....

Trisha was a student at IMU when she came to Eaglepoint and later went on to UK to complete her studies and now working at the Kuantan hospital. From being a church member, she was one of the dancer in the team and now she's a friend. that's church for you!

everything started with the wedding on Friday and ended with arriving home from Kuantan on Tuesday!

What's next happening in my schedule? The Point, EN2010, APEC and THG with a wedding in between!

btw, PC is not feeling well today and is resting at home. Show your pastor some tlc lah... =)

Surprise for Pastor!

Last Sunday, the kids from 更新教会 Kidzone did a surprise for Pastor Timothy! All the kids wrote a note for him and they actually went to paste it all over his car! But the teacher felt that it might be difficult for Pastor to drive around like that so they took it all down before service end. But that did not deter the kids from telling Pastor what they did to his car (that was how Pastor Tim knew...)! Good thing I managed to get a hold of the notes and paste them at his chair for you to take a peek! =)

Jamie & Alan came back from her 20th anniversary re-honeymoon trip to New Zealand with goodies for the office. The post is for you to admire. The goodies is for you to drool over! hahha... =)

What is discipleship?

Have you ever asked "What is discipleship?" as in the 'happening', not the 'action'...
I've heard that question a few times and tried to describe it a few times in a few ways. Let me attempt it one more time here.
I left SFE after things started to go for my once a month discipleship time with PC and her 'girls'. Looking back, I'm part of this group since 5 years or more. Su Leen just started working and still single, have not met Marcus then. Now, she's got two kids!

Since the beginning, PC created a culture and a platform where we share life, share our ups and downs, and we can talk about everything under the sky yet careful enough to care for each others' feelings and not be offensive... ok. it sounds more like we are being taught.

But that is true! We are being taught the word of God and how to live it out in our lives. Whoever says that living is easy is in denial. Living is tough and can be heart-wrenching. But PC not just teach us the WOG, she walk it out with us. There is not a time where she did not make her effort to be there for us during tough times - reminding us the promises of God, and praying with us and for us! That is her kind of discipleship.

The other side of discipleship time we have together is FELLOWSHIP! We not just learn together, we became friends and enjoy each other - "together-gether". Tonight, we had a simple farewell for Elaine, which you all know from my previous post, that she's going to move back to Mallacca this Thursday. Each of us brought a word or a gift to encourage her and spur her on. I came late cos of the SFE but I walk in right on the time where it's my turn to share. I gave a word to Elaine, made a simple card for her and thank her for her friendship! and she reciprocated our love with preparing a love letter for each of us... aww... sooo sweet of her! After tears and hugs, we prayed for her. It's not "Goodbye, Elaine" but just "Till Next Time, Laine"!

Then, PC prepared bah kut teh for us. Su Leen brought dessert and Hao Ying brought the ice-cream for it. We all had a great time eating and laughing. In this group, we can be real, we can share even our frustrations and we can accept each other - genuinely and sincerely. We were strangers that became sisters in this group.

If after reading this, you feel like you want to be part of that kind of a family-discipleship, don't! Don't want what is built by others. Each of us needs to be the one to build that kind of a relationship. Be that kind person ourselves, then we will build a family with those around us.

PointCast 100th Episode Shoot!

I woke up late this morning.
and then rushed over to church excitedly for the POINTCAST 100th Episode shoot! Yeah! We are now 100th episode 'old'! =)

So we gathered everyone for a celebration episode! This is just a teaser. I won't be breaking the surprise by describing everything here. But one thing was - WE HAD FUN! We had fun laughing together, making stupid jokes about the script, doing stupid dances at the street... i guess it means everyone in the team is in a celebratory mood! We could take all the stupid things we do off-screen and make the most enjoyable video ever! hahahah...

It would be the first to see more than 2 hosts in one episode. Prepare to have fun with next weekend's episode of PointCast! The 100th episode is one big reason not to miss church! =)

All in a weekend: 080510

Last weekend was kinda packed... ah but then which weekend is not?

After the usual praise and worship, we kickstart the specials with a water baptism slideshow/video. We celebrate with those that had gone through victory weekend last weekend and also presented them with a photo frame of a shot of them. Baptism is a bold step for each Christian to step out and declare that they will now follow Christ and IT IS something we should celebrate together as a family!

Usually on the Mother's Day or the Father's Day weekend, church will also give a gift to them but this year, we decided to combine the celebration into a combine service to celebrate PARENTS DAY, which will be happening on June 13, 11am at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort.

Pastor Tim, literally walked down each aisle and presented each mother with a stalk of rose in all the services to wish them Happy Mother's Day! ooo.... for me, seeing the whole pail of 150 stalks in my office IS the reward for flower lovers like me! Hope the mothers enjoyed it as much as i do. =)

And of course on Sunday, Kidzone prepared the children to make something for their mothers.

After all the commotion, everyone settled down to hear the word of God. Pastor Tim is still at this series entitled "ARISE". God has a God-given destiny for each of us and we need to arise to seize it and fulfill our destiny in life on earth.

I just had this thought - if someone misses one weekend service, that person actually missed a lot! Nourishment to the spirit, food to the soul, encouragement to the emotion, and GIFTS (baptism photo frames/flowers)... maybe this does not count much monetarily, but every weekend, we try our best to feed you wholly. So, don't miss any more services for your own good! =)

Just people in the church: LEONG TZIN YUEN

Leong? Who? Leong - the guy that did the "two two" at the TOT video! OH...oooohhhh....

Leong joined Eaglepoint two years ago, in Nov 2007. His classmate, Doris, invited him to attend Track of Talents and Creative Life and since then he'd plugged in to church and had been one of the faithful and consistent servant in the House!

Leong came from a Catholic background and had always felt that it was such a boring thing going to 'church'. But when he came to visit Eaglepoint, he felt that we were different and realised that he can actually have a relationship with God, not to mention getting to know a crazy new bunch of friends in Creative Life as part of the package.

It was through this journey that he finally received Christ into his life and got saved some time in Jan 2008 and was later baptised at the make shift pool at Mark's house in the same year.

"I'm a 100% Eaglepoint product, " he proudly declared as he stood here in my office.

Honestly, when he first came, I thought that he's quiet and possibly cos he's shy but once you get to know him, he's actually funny in his own way. Not to mention that he's a good brother. Just the other night, when Ching and I was working late in the office, he actually quietly waited for us at the cafeteria so that he can 'escort' us when we lock up in the dark when we go home around midnight. Not many guys had actually offered that kind of help... ahem...

Although he's currently at his final semester in Bachelor of Information Technology and Science at Monash University (Sunway), he is still one of the faithful cameraman and/or video editor for 1a.m. Shoot! In the short two years here, he'd started serving by helping to shoot the Track of Talents (TOT) performances and after attending Kareem's class on Basic Video Shooting, he learned the tricks of being a cameraman and from there, he was introduced to be an editor and a cameraman in PointCast. Now, he's the senior in all the areas!

When asked to describe some of the memorable moments about serving, his list started, "Watching the first PointCast episode that I edited, cringing every time I see the bad shots that I took, even getting the hosts' names wrong in credits once, working together with the video team on the Crooked music video shoot, getting lost to the location every day, doing live-cam on-stage shoot with Relent for Change Your World Kluang and recently at Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort for the the Easter Service."

For me, reading that list was kinda inspiring. Who would have thought that THAT quiet guy had so much to say?! I guess it could only mean that he really does enjoy serving together and enjoy serving in all those areas! Now, THAT's call a Doulos (love-slave). Not just serving without complain but enjoying serving together!

And to top it all off, the 'challenge' that he felt he had in serving is "Not being able to give more time due to studies." Now, that's call a reasonable excuse - of all the people that say that they do not want to serve because it's taking up too much of their time, here's someone that's already giving much and desire to be able to give more! What an inspiring spirit!

Saved at Sea with Michelle Hamilton

Last weekend, we had an invited speaker - Michelle Hamilton. She came humbly to share her testimony of how she was stranded and lost at sea for 3 days and through it all, she encountered God audibly and tangibly to survive that 3 days in the middle of South China Sea with no human and no help in sight. The fear of sitting in pitch blackness in the middle of the ocean with your back to a piece of wood, your feet flipping on the surface of water and wondering when you will die.

If you've missed it, you've just missed a chance to be ministered + a chance to bring someone to hear how real God can be when we are going through a storm + a chance to be prayed for prophetically + a good time enjoying yourselves.

Michelle was a really good storyteller, unraveling her story and capturing the audiences' attention in an uncomplicated yet so real that if you are open to hear from God, your faith would have increased.

100% Faith in God. That's her message. God wants a 100% of our faith in Him and not 50% or 80% of it. But with our own willful mind and sinful nature, how could we be so perfect? That is why, if you surrender and ask from Him, He will supernaturally empower it within us to have such great faith in Him.
Great faith comes from God!

That was the picture of the kind of ship that happened to pass by, saw her and picked her up and sent her to land. Out of the grasp of death, God picked her up and delivered her into safety. I don't want to spoil the fun and tell you everything so that you could grab your own chance in hearing it first hand. But I can tell you that it involve storms and sharks, angels and mermaid. =)

One of the thing that really gripped me was when she shared about a vision she saw 6 months ago. When she was ministering in Singapore, God called her into a vision where she was standing at the gates of Heaven and there were throngs of people standing outside the gates crying for God to let them into Heaven. They were even crying out to her asking for help that God will let them in. And Michelle turned to God and pleaded with God to let them in but God said this,
"These are the people that rejected me when I call them."

For me, that was most real. There were many times when I know God was calling me and I choose not to hear or do that which I know is the Holy Spirit's voice prompting me. We always think that there's tomorrow but some times, tomorrow may not come again for me or you...

Michelle's vision puts the fear of God back into my heart - not to treat God lightly. Who am I but a mere being that I can question God, doubt God, rebel against Him, ignore Him and accuse Him or throw a tantrum when He does not appear the way I want Him to be?

I am not God. He is. I repent, God. You are God and Your ways are higher than mine. No matter what people accuse of me or how hard and unfair living is, You are the one protecting me through the storm and I should remember that and not just allow the difficult moments to blind me from seeing Your goodness there with me.

One other thing I remembered Michelle mentioned was that God does not always pull us OUT of the storm (although this is what we want Him to do) but He went in and help us through the storm so that we emerge victorious. How many times can you remember or did not even realized but God had sent His angels and protected you against accidents, near death experience or even protected you from evil that's lurking at every corner in this fallen world?

The fact that you are still breathing, able to live a life is already proof that God is with you. Open up the newspaper, log on to news site and you will read of how people are being tortured and how mutilated human's morality can be and you know you are protected from it. Better give thanks to God due to Him than accuse Him and stand outside the gates begging to be let in when we threw the chance away by our own choice.

I am amazed at my faithlessness and I am amazed at God's patience with me...

Just people in the church: ELAINE ONG

Consistently every month, I’m sure to receive an email from ELAINE asking all the people involve in PointCast for our availability dates. If you’re in the team, you would know that she’s THE woman behind the scheduling of PointCast. And if you see PointCast happening week after week, it didn’t just ‘happened’ to be. Elaine Ong is one of the main person that ensure it will ‘happen’ – she’s the PointCast Executive Producer cum scheduler!

Elaine was invited to Eaglepoint almost 12 years ago by her friend and she can still vividly account her first experience in Eaglepoint.

She described, “When I first came to church, Charlene Liang was the song leader that day. I remember clearly that she was rallying the people to come back to God. In my heart, it feels like God was saying to me, ‘welcome home, my daughter’ and I cried so much that day. Since then, I know that Eaglepoint is my home.”

Elaine was first roped in by Kevin Lau to help start and build a Multimedia team together. At first, when Kevin said that Kareem was going to join them, she was a little hesitant (cos she thought ‘Kazo’ is weird…) but then once she got to know Kareem, she found that he’s a great guy and a most generous friend. Now, they are BFFs!!

“I remember the time when Kevin, Kareem and I had to superimpose Kareem’s head onto Stephen Chow’s body from Kungfu Hustle clips for the Breakout Awards video; we had so much fun working together even though we laboured continuously for about 3 days on the project. I enjoyed those times tremendously,” she said as she recalls from memory.

Serving together has given her a platform to get to know more people, especially those in the 1a.m. ministry as well as those that go to other weekend services but the team has their challenges as well. There are never enough volunteers chipping into the big effort of a production and it often falls back to the same few editors. She hopes that more committed volunteers will join the team and stick with it.

Sad to say but Elaine will be leaving us soon as she’s moving back to her hometown in Muar in anticipation of a new job as the Advertising & Promotions Manager for Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall. She felt that it’s time she return home to care for her parents and this job came timely for it. With the peace from God, she accepted the job offer and will be starting first thing next month.

“I want to thank Pastor Tim, Teresa and PC for being there for me all these years. The great family of Eaglepoint have definitely left a mark in my life and I would like to honour all of you by leaving your mark of legacy in my hometown as well. Thank you, to all of you, brothers and sisters who’d impacted my life. I’ll come back to visit!” she stated.

Although we will miss her, we will also wish the best for her in this new direction in her life.
Laine, we pray that in this new journey, you will discover more of God in your life, in every step you take and we pray for the grace and the blessing to be upon you! Muar is just a few hours, please come back for all the birthdays, special days and normal days too! =)

Victory Weekend - April 2010

Every Victory Weekend is a freedom experience! Here's what some of them says to "How was the Victory Weekend experience for you?"

"Amazing!" - Rachel, from UM, said with all smiles and excitement right after her baptism.

"Refreshing!" Cann Yeo (Faith's brother) exclaimed!

Daryl said, "To sum it up in one word would be "Significant". The word significant has been popping up several times and this weekend has definitely been significant. I have been preparing myself for this event and I really want to be serious with God after this. I have been slacking but things will change".

Jayvien Lau added, "Victory Weekend was inspiring and life-changing, especially the personal ministering session."

If you've missed it this round, the next VW would only be held next year BUT the next water baptism would be on Sep 19!

Today's Office Lunch!

Today we had church office lunch! all 16 of us SQUEEZED into one big table...
the joke is.... everyone sit side ways and use right hands! hahaha...
we thank and send yean ching and bee sean off (at least for yc. for bee sean, it's half send off cos she still do part-time for c@h)

AND welcome Jaime for joining the team! if you go to Sunday service, you might have known Jaime. She's such a nice lady, soft-spoken but bold in spirit. She's the new addition in the church office and we are glad to get to know her.

Bee Sean surprised us all by bringing a gift for each of us! it's a frame with a chinese idiom printed inside. she thoughtfully 'give' each of us a chinese proverb that she hope to encourage us!

Ask Neil to translate. He knows! hahahha..

Yean Ching had been working in Eaglepoint for 4 years and she truly has a way with people and has a heart for the house of God. She really desires to see the house of God in good shape and did her best in maintaining it. We all thank-ed her but she's not leaving church... just the office. Shes still the permanent volunteer for Eaglepoint! =)

Bee Sean has boldly stepped out to carve out a path for her fashion business and is now only doing part-time for Community At Heart. Quoting Pastor Tim, "She make up the heart part in Community at Heart." And truly, her compassion for the poor and marginalized is evident to those around her!

it was a long long lunch... we had fun, we had fellowship and we had thanksgiving.

Wait for the upcoming post when I'll zoom in each of them and bring you closer in getting to know the office!

Last Sunday, we had G2KU for our new guests again!

Although there were not many new visitors but it's also because of that, we decided to change the memory walk setup to inside the hall... and it was indeed a blessings in disguise. Every G2KU, we experiment with the setup and so every G2KU is a little different. And this round, because everything was put up IN the same hall, when Pastor Tim share, he was able to bring the ppl's attention straight to the departments (that was already paste at the wall).

i especially like the 3Bs being put up right in the front. i think if people forget everything, they would at least remember BELIEVE, BELONG, BECOME.. cos they've been looking at it all night long. ahhaha... but some of the posters came off... it was rather funny when pastor introduce me and the 'community at heart' sign (RIGHT ABOVE MY HEAD) started to fall down halfway. hahahah....

Easter Service

Easter Combined Service was last Sunday at Bukit Jalil Resort. More than 500 people gathered there to celebrate together. The place was packed full. I'm so sorry that I was so busy making sure everything run smoothly that i forgot to take any photos (the only photo below is courtesy of Yean Ching's blog).

Celebrating Easter is one of the thing we do in Eaglepoint but sharing life is another thing we do often in Eaglepoint. Even in the midst of the busyness in life, there are those who remembers our birthdays. A group of them gathered with a cake to celebrate Carolyn's birthday after the service. I was there in time to catch a couple of shot for you! =)

Change Your World Ipoh! Yahoo... u wont believe it but the crowd was memorable. we've never had such a responsive crowd. it was truly an enjoyable time for us as well as for them!

the crowd brought food for the poor as well. and there was such a generous pile but sorry guys, i came out towards the end after the last dance so did not manage to take a better shot.

more than 700 people turned up for the event and the hall was quickly packed full to end...

the 3 heads... vincent puah the event manager, wai foong and kah ling both ipoh-gals, one in charge of the ushers and the other in charge of merchandise and redemption!

CYW Ipoh happened on the exact day of Kel/PC FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!! and so we threw a small surprise and made them kiss! but they were shy so didnt manage to caught the fast peck with my poor phone camera lor...

The First Blessed Supper!

Once a year (since last year, hopefully for the years to come), Frank & Cecilia generously invite the whole church office to a big feast at their home. The first time i went, i was actually SHOCKED that Frank was the one who cook everything!!! hahahaha...

There was a wide array of dishes laid on the table, when we arrived. Our eyes sparkled at the sight of the roast chicken, baked potatoes, fried chicken, salad, lamb, garlic bread, and mushroom soup. Just when I was about to retire from all the food, we were served delicious brownies topped with ice cream and garnished with a pretty strawberry! We ate and ate our hearts out. The only regret I have was that my stomach wasnt big enough to contain all the food.

ops.. thousand apology from Sharon's phone to Chrystin and Daniel for not being able to fit them into the screen. hehehe... *Dan, u need to keep FIT into the screeen lah!

Pastor came later after Chinese church leaders meeting. Being the typical CHEENA man he is, he don't know how to appreciate the lamb!!!! jorrrrr..... what a waste! =(

And being the opposite of her brother, SHE en.....joooooooyyyyysss.... the lamb! hahaha... devour the meat!

the night ends with delicious desserts (ice cream with brownies.. yummm...). and then encore with a fortune cookie each.

Ps Steven's Birthday

Just now we had lunch together, celebrating Ps Steven's birthday. and he requested for us to have it at Asam House. hahahaha.... before we give speech, he gave his speech and gave each of us one of those box u see us holding... it's cereal topping...

everyone say something to encourage Ps Steven but the killer speech came from Ps Tim, of course. His speech some how managed to be like a summary that included all that we've said - Ps Steven has it all - Performance, Relational and Professional!!

Neil had class so did not manage to join us at lunch but he came to honor Ps Steven... hand in hand, eyes to eyes... he thanked him! hahahahahhaha.. they have intimate discipleship! hahaha...

back from CYW Kuching!

it's been a strenous weekend i can testify to that. it's as though the enemy tried very hard to stall and make all our lives difficult just cos of CYW Kuching (in my own thoughts)... everything that can happen, HAPPENED.

you wont believe this, but the dancers missed the flight! if u know me well, u would know that i'm the kind that wont miss my flight! but we did. a trailer overturned at the road to airport and threw off our travelling schedule and we missed the flight and had to buy another ticket to get there. and not just us, but the events ppl were delayed, pc woke up with swollen eyes, wenji (the prayer leader)'s car door just wont open every time she lock it. she'd never experienced this problem with her car and doreen's neighbor have to burn down her house right the day before we travel! and many many other things happened that tried to dampen our spirits and steal, kill or destroy our reasons for being there. and the lightings for the event just tripped and went off in the first set of the concert! this had never happened before and it didnt happen during the rehearsal but during the start of the concert! ahhaha... but we just went on with the songs and dance and the word of God!

but ALL OF US went all out for it regardless.

despite of the happenings, we relentless went through each and every obstacles in faith, in prayers and in obedience to what God wants us to do.

actually, the dancers even prepared a song to sing to the committee during the evening of briefing to encourage them but due to missing flight, we werent able to go as scheduled and only arrive the next day morning, so in the end, we only managed to sing it to Nailin and PC. they were moved and ministered. that was more than enough for us to be encouraged too.

n in the end, more than 800 people turned up for CYW Kuching!!!! more than 800 youths heard the call. the small acts that we did speaks to many. God is at work in our obedience and in our right spirit during the whoile time!

Change Your World KUCHING

Kuching! Here we come!

the Change Your World team is heading off to Kuching, in fact some are already there, some are at the airport flying off and some (like me) are leaving tomorrow evening!

we are truly excited to see what God is going to do amidst al lthese young people.

according to Nai Lin's FB report, "Kuching Ticket updates as of 11:20pm;26th Jan 2010: We'll have 511 Kuching Changers under one roof!! Where are the 489 OTHERS??? QUICK!!!!"

it's exciting to see the number of tickets sold climbing every week, every day.

If you did not know the full story, we almost did not make it to Kuching to the various people pulling out from the event at the last minute and one day when nailin and me having lunch, i challenged her to pick it up and sow into your own land and then, she became the champion!

so proud of her for taking this up and pushing it through. hence, we're preparing a surprise for them! hahaha... ssshhhh...

so, if you are kuching-nites, please get your friends there. their world will be changed and you've made a small difference in their lives. take time to invest in your friend's life.

Prayer Meeting

Just came back from a full Holy Spirit charged prayer meeting!

you should have been there! what a great start to the year. just spending time dedicating to God, praying for our year and speaking faith into the days to come!

These lyrics were just so ministering and so apt. The more we sing it, the more we speak of our desire to be seek His face in this time!

If you missed the prayer meeting or you want pastor's slides, here it is:

Results of being filled with the Spirit:

1. Witness

Act 1:8 But you shall receive power, the Holy Spirit coming upon you. And you shall be witnesses to Me both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

The Bible say the Holy Spirit come upon us so that we shall be witnesses of the Gospel. Let's start by praying for the Holy Spirit to fill us and let's pray that we will be witnesses. Pray for every name that comes to your mind - that you will be witness to this person!

2. Prophecy and Vision

Act 2:17 "And it shall be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Let's pray that the anointing of the prophetic will be upon us. Awaken our spirit to the revelation from God.

3. Spoke the Word of God with boldness

Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the Word of God with boldness.

Lay hands on your lips or mouth as you pray that out of your mouth will come the Word of God with boldness!

4. Wisdom

Act 6:10 And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spoke.

Pray for God's wisdom to be upon your Life Group leaders. Speak wisdom into them!

5. Guidance

Act 8:29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join yourself to this chariot.

Pray for God's guidance into every area of our life. Commit to Him every parts of life - our career, office, school, business, time, schedule, finance, thoughts... let God's guidance leads it!

6. Miraculous

Act 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good, and healing all those who were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with Him.

Let's pray for the miraculous in us and through us!

7. Prevent from stepping out of God’s Will

Act 16:6 And coming through the Phrygian and the Galatian region; and by the Holy Spirit being forbidden to speak the Word in Asia; Act 16:7 having come to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia. But the Spirit did not allow them.

The Holy Spirit not just provide but He also protects us. When God shuts a door, He knows what's better for us. Let's pray for ourselves as we obey God and pray for the Holy Spirit to leads us into God's will.

8. Discerning the Lord’s heart

Act 17:16 But awaiting them in Athens, Paul's spirit was pained within him, seeing the city full of idols.

Act 18:5 And when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.

And pray that we will be sensitive to discern the Lord's heart this year. Pray for your every month. Speak what you want to see in January, February, March... til December!

A year start right is a year start with God.

Persevere and continue to fast and delibrate seek God's face!

7 Days Prayer & Fasting

The yearly Seven Days Prayer and Fasting has started - yesterday!

if you are like me - forgot the first day - it's ok! repent and start today! =)

take the time to be deliberate with God and hear from Him.

If you would meet Him, He would be quicker than you to close the gap and meet you where you are. Just this morning, after my deliberate-devotion, the short drive from my humble apartment to church, the moment i open my lips to say the first line of prayer, i wept all the way to church because the presence of God is with me and i was so touched!

ARE YOU AWAKEN TO THE VOICE OF GOD?
It's time to wake up and be deliberate about it!

How is your phone line connection with God?

That was the question Soo Fee posted to us at SNL just now.
Is it blocked? unclear? Can you hear God clearly? or He sounds muffled to you?

It's not cos God is not speaking properly.

It's our phone line not been awaken to pray.
She shared many testimonies and stories about her prayer life. and the two that touches me the most are the last two where she shared about her God answering her dying aunt's desire even when she was writing her last wish to Soo Fee and the story where the father sitting with the boy at the stump (for the full effect of the story, u need to hear it from her) .

I'm most touched because 2009 had been a difficult year for me where i know i was constantly trying to "take a break" from God and from all responsibilities. but as the year draws to an end, i know that it's time to come back and leave those childish ways behind.

As i take this small little step in my heart, not even in actions yet, God meet me a mile away. especially since the 30th of December 2009, i felt like God constantly make Himself real to me. every prayer i make i FELT like He's there.

It's hard to describe but it's a feeling (you know it, you know it lah)...
material desires that had been in my heart were just answered like that,
strained relationship with my aunt is restored,
my blogshop was brought to bigger exposure,
and even today a small unimportant desire, i've been searching (2 weeks) for a hairband in a particular design within RM10 (every where i see it RM30-RM40), it's just something small in my mind that if i get, i get it, if i dont get it, it's ok also, but God brought me unexpectedly face-to-face with the exact thing i have in mind with a lower price than what i had in my mind!

it's a small thing but it's just something that brings big joy to me and God just knew that it would bring this effect on me and He went the extra to meet me in this way.

That is how Good God is.

The finishing of The Heavenly Gift!

We ran the race and finished 20-day "The Heavenly Gift" project strong and happy.

this is Jackee tearing the wings apart! hahaha... the gang staybed back and helped me clear up the new wing. old wing was handled by someone else. and the most right is jamie. she's the hands behind majority of the ribbons and can wrap all the odd sizes gifts! hahaha... amazing funny person... she likes my eyelid! (told ya she's funny)

and yesterday we went ditributing food at the community hall. many who were not in our list came hoping to get something too. this pic was taken after most of the food was distributed..
and many of the community ppl (shoppers who'd contributed) came and helped out to distribute and chat with the families and some even help to carry it up to their apartments. when the heavy rain broke out, they were soaked wet!

Christmas time!!

Church office Gift exchange day! yeah!

each of us picked a name a couple weeks ago to bring a meaningful gift for the name we picked and do a surprise gift giving. so today is the day. we all gathered around the table at the cafe. we had so much fun and laughter and simply taking time off the busyness to enjoy the fellowship of the office. each of us also receive gifts from pc/kel and steven.

i picked max's name. for me, it was a tough one cos the standard is so much higher to get something meaningful for creative ppl cos they are fussy-er! but i got this inspiration to bless him with the word of God as he uses every part of him to honor God. His hands, his head, his feet, his eyes, his ears and his body. glad he liked it though. i purposely did not make one with his full face cos he can always see that in a mirror! hahahah...

and this is what i get from Jude! i wonder whether is it cos i'm always scolding (fighting) with ppl but actually i'm just a tofu inside! hahahaha.... but i do love it!

ok. this year's christmas present... ta da! bahulu... we are in the midst of packing 700 packs of bahulu for Christmas day!! need more volunteers! come help!
